IMPLEMENTATION OF FIREWALL NETWORK MONITORING WEB-BASED FILTERING SERVICE AT PT SARI WANGI MENTARI

Abstract

Monitoring is an important part of network security where internet traffic access is widely used in the world of education and work. In this case Monitoring is needed to monitor activity on network devices. This study discusses the network monitoring system using Web services and performing security with port blocking and firewall filtering methods. This study uses a Mikrotik router and the Winbox remote router application to create firewall rules and uses Xampp to support web services. Firewall rules contain blocking communication ports which are prone to virus and malware attacks, and limiting internet traffic access using a web proxy by blocking http and https sites in a network. The results of this study were tested using the Nmap application to see the remaining open communication ports and using a browser to access redirected and blocked web sites. By maximizing and optimizing the performance of the firewall, an internet network will be safer and minimize the threat of attacks from outside.
